Artec technologies of Diepholz, Germany, and T-Systems’ Business Division of Multimedia Solutions inc. have signed a framework contract. Together the two companies will develop and operate a multimedia data and service center in Dresden and in the future will cooperate in the areas of IP-TV (television over the Internet) and IP-based video surveillance.
For this purpose, artec und T-Systems will exchange information, technologies and resources, develop existing technologies further, and market those both together and independently.
The future Dresdner multimedia data and service center will be one of the world’s largest and will be connected to the data network of the Deutsche Telekom. The operators will offer customized solutions, services and a broadband transmission platform for “Internet based television”, i.e. IPTV.
Another main focus of the service center will be video surveillance for all. In the future, private persons as well as companies can monitor their private residences or business operations with one or several digital video cameras without needing any additional hardware or software.
The cameras will have a direct DSL connection which will transmit the images to the Dresdner data center. From there, those will be forwarded on to the mobile phone or laptop of the security service or the owner. |
